Donna has to be the Queen of Disco and this compilation proves it. At the time this dropped Ms. Summer was all over the radio in NYC. If you were doing an old skool party today, you could rock this entire LP and I doubt many would complain.

‎Donna Summer's title as the "Queen of Disco" wasn't mere hype. Like many of her contemporaries, she was a talented vocalist trained as a powerful gospel belter, but she set herself apart with her songwriting ability, magnetic stage presence, and shrewd choice of studio collaborators, all of which re. Available with an Apple Music subscription.

Gold was Donna Summer's most recent (of many) greatest hits compilations. Donna Summer's entry in Universal Music's two-disc compilation series Gold is more or less a re-release of 's The Donna Summer Anthology, with the most noticeable differences being the cover art and that Gold includes four of her 90's Club and R&B hits, which came out after the Anthology.

Donna Summer (born 31 December , died 17 May ) was one of seven children raised by devout Christian parents. She sang in church, and in her teens joined a funk group called The Crow, so named because Donna was the only black member of the group.

Oct 27,  · Donna Summer's album On The Radio is a great collection of music, and all the songs pretty much lead into each other, and even though most of these classic disco/pop tracks land on other Greatest Hits Of Donna Summer or compilations, this is thee one to have, but you won't find any of her songs that hit in the 80's, like She Works Hard For The Money or This Time I Know It's For Real, this /5(62).

Mar 26,  · There's no scarcity of Donna Summer greatest-hits packages, but this chronological bargain-line disc eschews her rep as extendo-orgasmo dance-floor heroine in favor of her equally deserved rep as mistress of radio-friendly three-minute pocket symphonies/5(20).
